Filbert holds a Masters in Guidance and Counselling and he is registered with the Singapore Association of Counselling. With extensive experience across a wide range of client groups, Filbert's professional journey reflects his deep commitment to providing inclusive, empathetic and effective mental health support.
His work experience spans across the lifespan - from early intervention with young children to emotional and psychological support for older adults. He has worked with youth offenders, individuals with special needs, and clients navigating complex psychosocial issues.
Before assuming his current role as a counsellor, Filbert worked at the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) as a Psychologist. He provided specialised support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and neurodivergence such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). His work entailed the impartation of adaptive life skills for increased independent living and community integration, emotional regulation, and behavioural management.
